The Financial Analyst will join a lean and fast-paced Boston-based Finance team. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, the primary role of the Financial Analyst will be to perform a variety of analytical tasks and to develop and communicate thoughtful insights to leaders. This includes aiding in the development and maintenance of the financial budget. As part of the budgeting process, this individual will also be instrumental in assisting with the Budget vs. Actuals and monthly reporting processes. The individual will have the opportunity to meet and work with leaders across the business to provide financial insights and analysis to support the business.

The FP&A Analyst is a highly visible role and will be involved in strategic planning, including compiling board meeting materials and working on ad-hoc analyses in support of the leadership team. In addition to working with internal stakeholders, this individual will regularly collaborate with Tufin’s Private Equity sponsor and occasionally our lenders.

FP&A works with cross-functional teams to develop, track, and monitor key performance indicators and other critical Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) metrics such as ARR, Retention Rates, ACV Bookings, etc.

The ideal candidate will have worked in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The individual must have a keen attention to detail, particularly with a focus on precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  Budgeting & Forecasting

o  Maintain bottoms-up budget and other financial models.

o  Identify trends, develop insights, and present findings to business leaders.

o  Prepare detailed variance analyses (Budget versus Actual) and communicate findings.

o  Coordinate with Accounting on reconciliations and reclassifications.

o  Serve as key contact with Sales leaders.

      Reporting

o  Calculate and track financial covenants.

o  Understand, develop, and monitor business KPIs to report on business performance and trends.

o  Make recommendations on ways of driving performance improvements.

  Ad-Hoc

o  Assist in preparation of board meeting materials.

o  Assist with developing and tracking compensation plans.

o  Assist in evaluation of potential M&A targets.

Requirements

  • BS in Finance or Accounting;
  •  3-4 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, Management Consulting, Transaction Services, or Private Equity;
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to breakdown and understand financial results;
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP;
  • Strong mastery of Excel;
  • Highly autonomous and able to independently see projects through to completion;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technology (Software) industry experience
  • CPA or similar professional certification
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce.com, and NetSuite
  • Candidates in the greater Boston area preferred; it is expected that they would be in the office at least once a week.
